Tax Manager

A fast-growing, purpose-led property development business is seeking a Tax Manager to support its expanding commercial operations across the UK and Europe. This is a broad and commercially engaged tax role, ideal for someone looking to develop across corporate tax, indirect tax, and employment tax in a dynamic in-house environment.

The Company

With a strong pipeline of UK and European developments, this business is a key player in sustainable urban regeneration and long-term asset investment. The finance team is central to the group’s strategic growth, with tax playing a critical role in managing compliance, enabling investment, and driving efficiencies across its complex group structure.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Tax, this position offers ownership of UK corporation tax and indirect tax compliance while supporting on M&A activity and broader advisory matters. The role spans across operational companies, SPVs, holding companies and fund structures, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their exposure in a high-growth, transaction-heavy environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on preparation and submission of UK VAT returns and review of overseas VAT compliance (across jurisdictions such as Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, and Poland)
• Coordinate overseas tax compliance with local finance teams and external advisors
• Support on UK corporate tax compliance and group tax reporting obligations
• Maintain and implement transfer pricing policies and documentation
• Manage responses to tax audits and liaise with HMRC on matters such as group VAT registrations and structural changes
• Provide tax input on transactions, restructures, and commercial activity across the group
• Liaise with external tax advisors and support payroll tax matters alongside the People Team

What We’re Looking For

• Professionally qualified (ACA / CTA / ACCA / ICAS or equivalent) with post-qualification experience in UK tax
• Strong UK VAT knowledge is essential; exposure to European indirect tax regimes is a plus
• Experience in both compliance and transactional tax matters, ideally gained in-house or within a Big 4 / Top Tier practice
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to advise non-tax stakeholders and operate cross-functionally
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving business environment
• Interest in the property or infrastructure sectors is welcome, though not essential
