A leading professional services firm is seeking an experienced R&D Tax Senior Manager to join its rapidly expanding practice in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically minded professional with a strong background in information technology and R&D tax advisory to play a key role in delivering innovative tax solutions for clients across a wide range of industries.

The Role

The successful candidate will work with an established team of tax and technology specialists to deliver expert advice on R&D tax credits, Patent Box, R&D Allowances, Grants, and broader Innovation Advisory services. The position offers the opportunity to lead high-profile client projects, manage cross-disciplinary teams, and contribute to the growth and success of a market-leading innovation advisory practice.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage and review R&D tax relief claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC requirements.
* Lead meetings with senior client stakeholders across technology and finance functions.
* Provide expert advice on R&D tax relief, Patent Box, and other innovation incentives.
* Oversee the preparation of technical and financial documentation for complex IT projects.
* Liaise with HMRC specialists to agree R&D claims.
* Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
* Support business development activities, including proposal writing and client pitches.
* Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

About You

* Strong understanding of UK R&D tax legislation and its application within technology-driven businesses.
* Demonstrable experience in the IT industry, with the ability to quickly understand new technical concepts.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to explain complex legislative concepts in clear, practical terms.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply legislation to real-world scenarios.
* Proven project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.
* Professional tax or accounting qualifications (CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
