Personal Tax Assistant Manager - Cardiff
We are looking for a talented and motivated Personal Tax Assistant Manager to join a newly formed, collaborative team in Cardiff. In this role, you will oversee the preparation and review of personal tax returns, manage junior staff, and ensure full compliance with UK tax regulations.
You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency, using advanced technology and digital tools to streamline processes and improve accuracy. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking team focused on delivering smarter, more personalised tax services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and inspire team members, supporting their development and aligning performance with business objectives
Monitor team performance against KPIs and proactively address areas for improvement
Conduct detailed quality reviews and resolve escalations efficiently
Ensure compliance with all technical, quality, and risk frameworks
Act as a second-line contact for clients, providing tailored solutions to complex queries
Identify opportunities to provide value-added advisory services and support business growth
Collaborate with internal teams to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction
What We’re Looking For
A relevant accountancy and/or tax qualification (e.g. ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA, CA), or qualified by experience
Strong knowledge of technical and professional standards in personal tax
Proven ability to support and develop colleagues through training and mentoring
Experience reviewing tax computations and ensuring compliance
Confidence in developing bid and pricing proposals for non-complex work
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
