This is a varied role combining tax advisory, compliance, client management and business development, with the opportunity to work closely with senior tax professionals and a diverse range of clients.
Key Responsibilities
Work alongside Tax Partners on a broad range of advisory assignments, including reorganisations, management buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, tax due diligence, demergers and succession planning.
Advise business owners on the wider personal and commercial tax considerations arising from corporate transactions and strategic decisions.
Support clients with specialist areas of taxation, including capital allowances, Research & Development claims, tax accounting and obtaining appropriate HMRC clearances.
Play an active role in meetings with prospective clients, helping to develop new relationships, identify opportunities and support the transition of new clients into the firm.
Prepare detailed corporation tax computations for the firm's more complex clients, ensuring all relevant tax issues and adjustments are appropriately considered.
Review corporation tax computations produced by the accounts team across a varied client base, including trading businesses, investment companies, non-resident landlords, overseas companies managed and controlled from the UK, and UK subsidiaries of international groups.
Take responsibility for key corporation tax compliance projects, including the preparation and submission of ATED returns and relevant relief declarations.
Prepare clear, commercially focused tax reports, technical papers and advisory correspondence for clients.
Manage assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring work is delivered accurately, within agreed timescales and in line with budgetary expectations.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the tax and accounts teams to deliver a consistent, high-quality service to clients.
Provide guidance, coaching and technical support to more junior members of the team, contributing to their ongoing development and knowledge.
Maintain high standards of technical accuracy and ensure all client work is completed in accordance with the firm's quality and professional standards.
