Director - Treasury Tax

Location: Flexible UK-wide (Hybrid Working)

The Opportunity

A leading professional services firm is seeking an experienced Treasury Tax specialist to join its growing tax practice at Director level.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile and expanding team, advising a diverse client base ranging from privately owned and private equity-backed businesses to large multinational and listed groups. The team provides specialist support on financing transactions, international structuring, M&A activity, debt restructurings and complex corporate tax advisory projects.

This role offers the chance to combine deep technical expertise with commercial leadership, helping shape the future direction of a growing treasury tax capability while working alongside some of the market's leading corporate tax professionals.

The Role

As a Director, you will take a leading role in delivering technically strong, commercially focused advice across a wide range of treasury tax matters. You will work closely with corporate tax, deals and other specialist teams, supporting clients on complex financing arrangements and strategic transactions.

This position would suit an experienced Senior Manager ready to step into a Director role, or an existing Director seeking a new platform and greater visibility within a growing practice.

Key Responsibilities

* Advise clients on complex treasury tax matters, including financing structures, refinancing projects and corporate transactions.
* Provide technical guidance on the UK's loan relationships and derivative contracts regimes, including the Disregard Regulations.
* Advise on related areas including Corporate Interest Restriction (CIR), anti-hybrid rules, distributions and withholding tax.
* Support high-profile M&A transactions, debt restructurings, audit engagements and tax authority enquiries.
* Apply tax, accounting, legal and commercial knowledge to develop practical solutions for complex financing arrangements.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted adviser on technically challenging matters.
* Identify and develop new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the treasury tax offering.
* Lead, mentor and develop junior team members through coaching, training and technical support.
* Contribute to the broader leadership and strategic direction of the tax practice.

About You

You will be ACA, CTA, ACCA, CA or equivalently qualified, with extensive corporate tax experience and a strong background in treasury tax advisory work.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Deep technical expertise in loan relationships and derivative contracts taxation.
* Strong knowledge of Corporate Interest Restriction, anti-hybrid rules, withholding tax and distribution regimes.
* Experience advising on complex financing transactions, treasury arrangements and corporate restructurings.
* The ability to interpret complex legislation and provide practical, commercially focused advice.
* Proven experience managing senior client relationships and leading complex projects.
* A strong business development mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and grow client relationships.
* Demonstrable leadership experience, including mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management and project delivery skills.

Why Apply?

* Join a growing and highly regarded specialist team.
* Work on complex and high-value transactions across a broad client base.
* Take on a visible leadership role with significant market-facing responsibilities.
* Opportunity to influence strategy, develop people and help shape a growing area of practice.
* Flexible working arrangements and nationwide location options.
