The Tax Knowledge Technology and Innovation is a national business unit led by Lindsey Kutten and reporting into Mike Bailey, Head of Tax Technology & Investment and Clients & Markets.

Tax Knowledge is a national team of c30 people responsible for delivering against the Tech-enabled Knowledge strategy, ensuring that we are capturing and harnessing the power of our people’s knowledge and ultimately servicing our clients in the most effective manner.During FY18 there has been a strong focus on the technology enablement of what we do and how we do it, and our flagship new knowledge and engagement platform, The Suite, has recently launched.

Over the coming months we will be consolidating Tax knowledge within The Suite and and evolving Knowledge best practice in the business.We are looking to recruit a manager for a 6 month secondment to join our team and support with the review and associated transformation of corporate tax Knowledge.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Manager to leverage their experience of working with clients, hone their technical skills and be at the forefront of the digital transformation of our business, which is one of the Firm’s key growth areas.The person we are looking for will be a solutions oriented individual and will have:

Experience of working on a range of corporate tax projects
Excellent corporate tax technical knowledge
An interest in technology and new ways of working
Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills to support working with colleagues and clients
Excellent project management skills

They should be of an inquisitive mindset and interested in constantly updating and developing their soft, professional and technical skills.The Manager will be part of the Tax Knowledge, Technology & Innovation business unit, ultimately reporting into Lindsey Kutten although day to day management will be by Helen Elvidge who is responsible for Knowledge aspects of The Suite

They will be an integral member of the team with a broad range of activities and responsibilities, including review of all existing corporate tax Knowledge materials (briefing and technical papers, learning and development content, signposts), drafting of new materials as necessary, consideration of structure and presentation of materials for internal Suite.As part of their responsibilities, they will collaborate with the Technical Consulting team, led by Kathryn Tiddy, getting involved with preparing draft responses and having the opportunity to consult and work with some of the most esteemed technical specialists in our business.

This is an important and interesting role in a priority area of our business and will provide the manager with a unique insight into how we leverage Knowledge for maximum value for both our people and clients alike.

Essential skills:

CTA/ACA qualifiedStrong corporate tax technical knowledge and experience of advising clientsFacilitator / enabler, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholdersAbility to communicate clearly (verbally and written) and with self-confidence to all levels of staff, including at the most senior levelsAbility to consult widelyIntellectual capacity to make decisions with excellent analytical, organisational and project management skillsA conscientious, ambitious individual who is happy to work within a diverse team, with good self-management skills and an ability to take initiative but keep others informed of progress and escalate issues where appropriateStrong reporting and drafting skills
